International leaders have expressed their shock over ostensibly starving children in Gaza. The Hamas ”starvation” campaign is nearly as old as this war and is effective in many countries because it evokes the medieval blood libel accusing Jews of killing non-Jewish children in order to drink their blood. It turned out that depicted children had genetic diseases and such children are often depicted alongside their obese mothers. It is also easy to fabricate images and videos of starving children in Gaza such as through Sora of ChatGPT. How can Western leaders be so sure as to the veracity of those propaganda images?
