Applying Israeli Sovereignty to Parts of Judea and Samaria is Imperative

Nobody knows the outcome of the November 2024 presidential elections in the United States. However, eventually at some point a member of the GOP will become resident of the White House. Hence the question of whether a future Republican president will recognize Israeli sovereignty in parts of Judea and Samaria is an essential one indeed. Application of Israeli sovereignty in large parts of Judea and Samaria is an American interest that will transform the conflict with the Palestinians into a mere territorial dispute. The Palestinian Authority will effectively have a contiguous de facto state, yet without the powers to threaten Israel. Yes, once at least 10 million Median Jews have immigrated to Israel will Israel be able to redeem and enfranchise all of Judea and Samaria but this will take time. In the meantime, the PA will have its contiguous de facto state in much of Judea and Samaria. Today, few people understand the purpose of the indigenous Israeli communities of Judea and Samaria and therefore understandably buy into the extensive international efforts to vilify them as irrational and evil. Applying Israeli sovereignty to parts of Judea and Samaria will effectively constitute an act of partition, albeit a temporary one, yet will fundamentally transform the public perception of the conflict.
