A Final War for Peace

The seemingly inevitable upcoming war with Hezbollah needs to be one of permanently settling Israel’s northern borders as well as shifting the borders between Damascus and Beirut. The IDF needs to disengage from the postmodern military doctrine according to which wars somehow cannot be strategically won anymore. Rather, the IDF needs to aim for comprehensive political, military and strategic victory throughout the northern theater.

The definition of victory will be if this will turn out to be the last Israeli war in the northern theater as opposed to a repetition of the 2006 war as bound to be repeated with regular yearly intervals.

In alliance with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), the Maronites of Lebanon and Median Jewry of Syria and Lebanon, i.e. the Alawites and the Druze; will Israel be able to impose Pax Israeliana throughout Syria-Lebanon. The SDF will liberate Damascus with Israeli air support and AANES will become the new internationally recognized government of Syria which will diplomatically settle the new borders with Jerusalem and Beirut. A somewhat smaller Aramean Christian state will replace Grand Liban. Israel will keep the Golan Heights and annex the Median Jewish (Druze and Alawite) regions of Syria and Lebanon. Few will miss the totalitarian Ba’ath regime of Syria.
