The Israeli Deep State Must Warn the Opposition Too

A constitutional crisis and even civil war are unacceptable outcomes and hence the failure of the present constitutional negotiations in Israel will inexorably lead to a military coup d’état, something which neither the government nor the opposition desires. While the Israeli government is keenly aware of this fact, the leaders of the opposition are not and it is therefore imperative that the Israeli Deep State makes it known to them. Both sides must take national responsibility and both sides must compromise or else a different reality will be imposed by those with the power to do so.
