Elon Musk has blamed the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for the 60% decline in advertisement revenues since he took over X (formerly Twitter). While this vastly overstates the influence and reach of the ADL and smacks of Anti-Semitic conspiracy theory, the ADL would be particularly well-advised to use this moment to foment a constructive discussion with Musk and X on why X has lost so much revenue. The explanation is very simple. Many advertisers are simply not interested to be seen in a cesspool of racism, Anti-Semitism, transphobia, homophobia and misogyny. This is the simple explanation. Musk himself caused the catastrophic loss in revenues with his reckless policies for Twitter and later X. If Musk does not believe the ADL, then he should ask the advertisers themselves. The ADL probably does not read this blog so Israeli diplomats in the United States are quite well-disposed to convey this advice to the ADL.
