Biden Administration Should Stop Wasting Time

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman al-Saud in a recent interview with Fox News clarified that he expects Israel to ease the lives of the Palestinians. This is a most reasonable demand and should I add a very realistic one. Palestinians in Judea and Samaria suffer greatly under the gruesome bureaucratic apparatus of Israel’s Civil Administration. What should be done is to bring in third countries with streamlined administrative procedures such as Sweden to help revamp the bureaucracy in Judea and Samaria. This will make Palestinians more content with their lives and will possibly decrease psychological incentives for engaging in terrorism against Israelis. The Palestinian aspect of the Saudi agreement should however not be a zero-sum deal. On the contrary, cutting red tape in Judea and Samaria will benefit both Israel and the Palestinian population in lessening discontent in the area. Furthermore, an agreement should include clauses protecting antiquities and the environment. The Biden administration is holding up the reaching of an agreement by unilaterally trying to pressure Israel into concessions that are certainly not in Israel’s own interest and therefore wholly unrealistic.
