Trump’s Promise to Muslim Nations is Contingent upon Full Mutual Implementation of the US Peace Plan for Gaza

USA President Donald J. Trump made a promise to leaders of some Muslim nations in the context of what became the 20 point plan for peace in Gaza. President Trump should now emphasize to those leaders that his promise to prevent Israeli application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria is entirely contingent upon Hamas implementing its full obligations according to the peace plan as that was indeed the context in which the president made his promise to these partners. If Hamas continues to refuse to comply with its obligations, President Donald J. Trump should should go ahead and recognize Israeli sovereignty in parts of Judea, Samaria and Gaza. This is a strong American interest as it will put effective pressure on Hamas and its sponsors in the international community to implement Hamas’ obligations in the US peace plan. If Hamas continues to refuse to hand over Ran Gvili’s body and fully disarm; Israel and America must go ahead with applying sovereignty and diplomatically recognizing that respectively as this contrary to what is typically claimed will set the borders of the future Palestinian state to be established after there has been thorough deradicalization in Palestinian society. Thus applying sovereignty will offer significant progress towards peace and that is obviously a strong American national interest.
