What if the Hebrew Bible is not a religious book at all but a book esoterically recording Israelite history? What if it was too controversial and even dangerous to write exoteric historiography? Ancient books were generally written through various esoteric traditions around the world and some have been decoded such as Leo Strauss’ “Great Tradition”.
The migrations of individuals described in the Pentateuch are historical in the sense that they match historically documented migrations of human populations in ancient Middle East at those times in history. The timeline from Abram fleeing the collapsing Neo-Sumerian Empire to the Holy land Aratta (Artza) to the emigration of the Atenist priesthood to Canaan through Sinai is mostly correctly dated. The Pentateuch could be described as a history of sacerdotal transmission. Many things in the Pentateuch are literally historical including the description of Abraham’s household and the portable Israelite Sacred Tent. The mention of extremely old people in the Book of Genesis may describe different eras in Sumerian history although it may be necessary to decipher the number of years through numerology.
The Book of Ruth exoterically describes the conversion of Ruth the Moabite to evolved Atenism, the Israelite religion. What it may refer to is the general process of conversion to Atenism among the non-Israelite peoples of the Land of Israel leading to the disappearance of the non-Israelite peoples of Canaan in the Hebrew Bible from history as they certainly did not exist as distinctive peoples anymore at the time of the New Testament.
One peculiar aspect is exaggeration of exile. While some populations from Aratta emigrated to Egypt and lived there for at least four centuries, most never left Aratta. Similarly is the Babylonian and Assyrian exiles exaggerated since most Israelites remained in Israel.
