Is the Khomeinist empire declining or on the ascendancy? This is largely up to the determination of regional nations as led by Israel. Will Israel and the AANES (Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria) defensively liberate Lebanon-Syria and redraw borders between Beirut, Jerusalem and Damascus subsequent to the massive Hezbollah missile barrage against Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities? Will Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and perhaps other allies impose a no-fly zone over Iran and provide air support to regional rebels and inspire revolts to encourage the implosion and dissolution of Iran? Will regional countries overtly form a defense alliance against Iran? Will Saudi Arabia be ready to normalize relations with Israel towards this end?
The Iranian regime believes itself to be on the ascendancy because it thinks that Allah is on its side of history. The Iranian economy is on a trajectory of rapid decline, the regime is incredibly unpopular and the majority of the population no longer believes in Islam. Its nuclear weapons program is about to be destroyed by Israel and American sanctions are expected to remain in place for the foreseeable future for as long as the regime remains in power.
Israel on the other hand is a power on the ascendancy and is making new friends and allies throughout Islamdom. Iran in contrast is almost universally feared and loathed among governments of Islamdom. The Israeli economy is on the ascendancy and Israel is a rapidly growing technological global powerhouse.
Will America support an independent Kurdistan in the Syrian, Iraqi and Iranian sections of Kurdistan and seriously arm the Kurds with all kinds of heavy weapons, including an air force? Strengthening an emerging independent Kurdistan as a second Israel will significantly weaken Iran in the region and strengthen American strategic interests.
It is up to regional governments to show leadership and act in concert and it is up to America to support them in their joint endeavors to implode and dissolve the Khomeinist empire.
