Deterrence is Incompatible with Appeasement

The Iranian leadership is determined to implement ”Death of America” at some point. They cannot be strategically deterred, only tactically so. This presents a dilemma for the United States government. What is the best means for deferring the destruction of America, appeasement or deterrence? The US government is yet to recognize that Elon Musk and Tesla have changed the Iranian game completely in putting the world en route to phase-out of diesel and gasoline. This is the main reason why Tehran refused to return to the JCPOA. Elon Musk has radically shortened the Mahdist timeline from one that was essentially indefinite to one that has become radically truncated. The US government believes that it can simultaneously deter and appease the Iranian regime when in fact those two modes of action are radically incompatible as appeasement completely undermines deterrence.
