The NATO Paper Tiger Doesn’t Deter Russia

European defense policy is premised on the outdated notion that NATO somehow deters Russia. NATO does not deter Russia as Russia in fact plans to invade EU countries in the years to come. It is absurd that the European Union with 450 million citizens is threatened by the Russian Federation with 140 million citizens and expects the United States with 340 million citizens to fight WWIII for them. Guess what? The United States is getting cold feet and rather understandably so. Why should American servicepersons fight WWIII on behalf of Europe when EU economic and demographic fundamentals allow the EU to build its own military which would also deter Russia from launching WWIII? Europe finds itself at a turning point and US President Donald Trump is actually trying to save Europe and prevent WWIII by aligning with Russian President Vladimir Putin against China and convincing the EU to develop the capability to defend itself and deter war. It is time for a drastic decision, scrapping NATO and establishing a unified European military that will partner with Russia and the United States against China. Of course, that is not how the EU works but that is how it will need to work if wants to avoid WWIII.
