Time for a New Saudi Strategy on Yemen

The KSA appears to be repeating its old failed strategy on Yemen, i.e. providing air support to Yemeni so-called ”government forces” militias and then hoping for the best. Instead what Riyadh needs to do is to invade the Red Sea coastal plain area in Yemen. The population is Sunni so they will welcome the Saudi liberators and will not resist them. Once the Houthis have lost coastal access they will be cut off from Iranian support. This should commence a process of besieging the landlocked Houthis until they fail and fall. There is no need to invade Zaydi areas, besieging them will be enough and indeed the Houthis will fail and fall effortlessly. This is the easy and effective way out. The Houthi problem can be resolved but not through air power alone.
