The Islamic Veneer in Alevism

What is the Islamic Veneer in Alevism? Alevis do not practice any aspect of Islam in their daily life whatsoever but during the holiday celebrations known as Cem (pronounced Djem, from Hebrew “Yom” i.e. “day”) do they sing extremist Shiite lyrics that include the deification (sic!) of Mohammad and Ali. This is not even “Islamic” or even “Shia” but rather intended to frighten Muslims as well as to protect Alevis from forced conversion to Islam. This is similar to the Crypto-Jewish Xuetas of Majorca traditionally eating pork in public space as public demonstration so as not to be suspected of being Jewish. Again there is nothing Islamic whatsoever in the daily life religious practices of ordinary Alevis. The pro forma pseudo-Islamic recitals during Cem are designed to prove their Islamic credentials, yet without embracing Islam. The sung texts of Cem will certainly need to be modified in entirely shedding the Islamic veneer as preparation for mass Aliyah (immigration) to Israel. This will be seventh major religious transformation Alevis have have underwent since being deported by the Assyrians from Israel 27 centuries ago.
