Erdogan Seeks to Sabotage Turkey’s Alliance with the West

Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan continues his policy of sabotaging Turkey’s relations with NATO and the West in defiance of the Sabbatean-controlled Derin Devlet, Turkey’s Deep State domestic intelligence apparatus which is keen on Turkey’s alliance with the West. The latest move is to order the expulsion of the ambassadors of Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, New Zealand and the United States due to them objecting to the continuing incarceration of Turkish philanthropist Osman Kavala who has been behind bars for four years without trial.

This is the worst diplomatic crisis ever between Erdogan and the West and Erdogan is clearly determined for Turkey to be expelled from the NATO alliance on account of bad behavior. This is peculiar because Turkey is dependent on the West for the majority of its international trade, yet Erdogan seeks to alienate the West and move Turkey towards the East. The problem of course is that Erdogan has no obvious Islamic alternative to its Western alignment other than Iran.

Yet Turkey’s expulsion of the ten ambassadors could be seen as Erdogan throwing a tantrum in anger over NATO not even moving towards expelling Turkey from its midst in spite of Erdogan’s extensive defense cooperation with Russia. Despite being the dictator and having extensive tactical powers, Erdogan is not the one who has ultimate strategic control over the Republic of Turkey.
