President Trump is a great friend of Israel, yet he has developed a disturbing habit of making concessions on behalf of Israel without Israel’s consent as if Israel was a banana republic.
The first time was when he promised a group of Muslim heads of states that Israel would not apply sovereignty to areas of indigenous Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria. This caused particularly grave harm to Israeli national interests albeit temporarily so.
The second time was the MoU between Iran and the US which implied that Israel had to withdraw from the security zone in southern Lebanon. Israel said it would not comply (Israel cannot tolerate another 7/!0 massacre) and after much American pressure there was no Israeli withdrawal.
Now is the third time. The Trump-led BoP has negotiated an agreement with the Hamas Jihadist terrorist organization which will lead to Hamas rearming through smuggling across the Egyptian border and to a second 10/7 massacre. Anyone with a thorough understanding of Israel understands that Israel has no choice but to decline an agreement which Israel is not party to and which will not be fully honored by that genocidal, antisemitic terrorist organization. Hamas will never voluntarily disarm yet the Israeli security zone in Gaza serves the essential purpose of preventing another 10/7 massacre.
