Critics in Israel have long questioned the peace industry’s projects such the failed Oslo process, the disastrously failed Disengagement from Gaza and immensely dangerous unconditional Palestinian statehood. They are part of a larger pattern of Palestinian dystopian project. The Palestinians also launched civil wars in both Jordan and Lebanon. Wherever the Palestinian movement creates a footprint on the ground in the Middle East the result is dystopian; more terrorism and regional destabilization.
Another question, does Ramallah want a state alongside the 1949 Jordanian-Israeli armistice lines? Yes they do, but not as an end point and notably without a peace treaty with Israel. They want to continue to pursue the conflict in continuing to demand the immigration of millions of Palestinians to Israel and using terrorism and rocket fire as a means to press their case. Ramallah has said no to all peace offers because it does not want to end the conflict and close the case on Palestinian demands on Israel. E.g. Mahmoud Abbas has many times suggested the implementation of the implementation 1947 UNGA partition plan, in the PA thus explicitly laying claim to large parts of Israel. Even so the prevailing idea now in the international community is the unconditional implementation of Palestinian statehood without an end to conflict and end-of-claims. It is difficult to escape the impression that the international Israel-bashers do not care about peace but at least subconsciously would want nothing more than to see the Jews subjugated and slaughtered by Palestinian terrorists.
Even Hamas supports establishing a Palestinian state along the 1949 Jordanian-Israeli armistice lines. Why? Not because they want peace with Israel but because they like the PA understand well that returning Israel to the 1949 armistice lines would facilitate the destruction of Israel and the extermination of its Jewish population. It is instructive how Palestinians describe their one-state proposal for ”coexistence” as ”a compromise”. They are implying that Jews won’t be exiled and exterminated which of course is a complete lie as the consensus in Palestinian society is that all Jews must leave ”historical Palestine” from the river to the sea.
