Sometimes it takes an effort to admit that you were in the wrong. Sometimes it is very difficult, especially if it is an entrenched political position, so let’s examine the issue of Judea and Samaria. If you want a Palestinian state then a solution along the lines of the Kushner peace plan is the only game in town as expelling hundreds of thousands of human beings does not belong in this century and Jews cannot live in a Palestinian state because they would be massacred en masse like the Jews of Hebron in 1929. Yet the Kushner peace plan is not feasible because the Palestinians reject it as they have rejected all other peace offers since 1937. If you want to expel Jews then why not open up the issue of reciprocally expelling Palestinians with compensation as well? We surely do not want to go there. The Kushner peace plan is the most realistic plan for a Palestinian state that has ever been presented, yet let’s just agree that not even the Kushner peace plan is realistic either.
A Palestinian state cannot be established because it is impossible to resolve the question of descendants of ex-refugees and hence it is impossible to sign end of claims and end of conflict and the war, terror and rockets would surely continue. The Palestinian side insists that Israel recognizes a so-called “Palestinian right of return” that would allow millions of Anti-Zionists to immigrate to Israel and thus end the Jewish state and turn any two-state solution into an transitional fiction. Hence the conflict cannot be resolved.
The international community needs to forge a new consensus on demographically resolving the Palestinian issue by means of Median Jewish mass immigration in the tens of millions to Israel that would demographically allow Israel to redeem and enfranchise the entire Judea and Samaria. If the US imposes a no-fly zone over Iran will it free 2-3 million Median Jews in Iran. Immense and sustained economic diplomatic pressure on Turkey is necessary to ensure that Erdogan permits the country’s Median Jews to immigrate to Israel. Western diplomatic pressure is also necessary to ensure that Iraq’s government does not sabotage Median Jewish emigration to Israel.
This is all connected to the Palestinian issue because Median Jewish mass immigration to Israel will demographically allow Israel to redeem and enfranchise the entire Judea and Samaria while the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Jordan will happily annex Gaza once Israel applies sovereignty over the entire Judea and Samaria. Israel itself does not have the power to open the gates to Median Jewish mass emigration to Israel. The West has that power and the West would be particularly well-advised to benevolently use that power for the benefit of Jews and Palestinians alike. Israeli redemption and enfranchisement of the entire Judea and Samaria is in the best interest of all, in fact, it is the only solution considering that over 600 000 indigenous Israel Jews live interspersed throughout the territories beyond the former green line. Crucially living as equal citizens of an economically developed democracy is in the best interest of the Palestinians of Judea and Samaria.
Falling Palestinian fertility rates and the Haredi demographic revolution (there will be some 5 million Haredim in Israel in just three decades time) would anyway have allowed Israel to redeem and enfranchise the entire Judea and Samaria in due time but now it will happen much faster.
