US Deterrence Depends on Credibility

One problem with US deterrence vis-a-vis Iran is the ambiguity surrounding the question as to who will take out Iran’s nuclear weapon’s program. If Israel isn’t convinced that America will take part, then who can blame Iran for not believing America? Why is not Israel convinced that America will act militarily to neutralize the Iranian nuclear program? Well, the fear is apparently that the White House will cower in fear of Iranian biological terrorist retribution and even act to prevent Israel from taking action and thus allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons. This is precisely what Iran believes will happen. Hence, this is the crux of the matter since this false impression of perceived ”American ambiguity” on the question of Iranian nuclear weapons undermines American deterrence and thus poses a most severe threat to homeland security in terms of the threat of Iranian biological terrorism against major American cities. It all boils down to one question: does Iran view the present administration as ”strong and determined” or ”weak and confused”? The fact that the mullahs for so long were able to fool Biden, Malley and Blinken about resurrecting the JCPOA sent the message that the Americans are ”weak and confused” in apparently not understanding the true nature of the totalitarian regime and its imperialist ambitions. For America’s sake there must be no more ambiguity surrounding the question as to whether the US will take part in Israel’s neutralization of Iran’s nuclear weapon’s program. Not taking out Iran’s nuclear program would seal America’s fate since Iran would gain impunity from WMD terrorism on America’s soil. Let’s say in a hypothetical future that Iran has nuclear weapons and then decides to attack major American cities with biological weapons, then America would not dare to respond with nuclear weapons since Iran would respond in kind with nuclear weapons against American soil and Iran would therefore be able to use biological weapons with full impunity as there would be zero US deterrence. If however Israel alone takes out the Iranian nuclear weapons program without American participation will Tehran therefore see America as weak and confused, will hold America responsible and will be far more likely to attack major American cities with biological weapons than if the US also participated in the operation against Iran. The view from Tehran does not look pretty but it is nevertheless imperative to view things through the enemy’s prism.
