Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan are mortal enemies and bitter rivals of the Islamic Republic of Iran, yet both have recently diplomatically “reconciled” with Tehran and apparently so out of fear of Iranian military invasions. While deeply understandable, it is also important to understand that appeasement does not last and these agreements only buy immunity from Iranian aggression in the immediate aftermath of Israel’s destruction of Iran’s nuclear weapons program. It is unknown to the public what clauses these “agreements” contain and whether the agreements are truly at the expense of Israel’s freedom of action from these countries. Irrespective, Israel operates from multiple countries in the region and furthermore has its own long-range capabilities.
