Zelensky’s Israel Campaign

Ukraine has waged a well-oiled international campaign to gain international support against the illegal Russian invasion. However, the Zelensky administration has specifically targeted Israel, in many times complaining about Israel maintaining its good relations with Russia. Why is the Zelensky administration putting so much effort into courting Israel which is merely a small country in the Middle East? The reason should be obvious, Zelensky would like to enroll major American Jewish organizations for the task of lobbying the US government for the Ukrainian cause. These efforts will not bear fruit because it is a supreme Israeli national interest to maintain good relations with both Moscow and Beijing considering the increasing feasibility of the scenario of an Anti-Semite becoming elected president of the United States. Israel needs to maintain great power alternatives to the United States with veto powers in the United Nations Security Council in the event that a hostile US president would abandon Israel.
