Israel Expects Two-Front War

A joint IDF-SDF campaign in Syria and Lebanon leading to the establishment of an Aramean Christian state and the Israeli annexation of Median Jewish (Alawite and Druze) regions of Syria and Lebanon would lead to the addition of 4 million Jewish citizens to the State of Israel, something which means that Israel would demographically afford to redeem and enfranchise the entire Judea and Samaria. Jordan in turn would subsequently immediately annex Gaza. This strategic reality means that Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) will join Hezbollah in launching massive barrages of rockets and missiles against Israeli cities once Israel has destroyed the Iranian nuclear weapons program. The fact is that Hamas, Hezbollah and PIJ will be defeated and destroyed.

This will be the largest war ever in Israel’s history. The operation will bring peace with all of Israel’s neighbors as the AANES (Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria) will take over Syria and annex the remainder of Lebanon. All border changes will take place through trilateral international agreement between Jerusalem, Beirut and Damascus. The war will defeat three major Jihadist terrorist organizations, i.e. Hezbollah, Hamas and PIJ. The war may lead to heavy Israeli losses in soldiers’ lives, especially in Gaza. The greatest challenge may be in the realm of public diplomacy where anti-Israel campaigns in the West are expected to gain a major boost. The Israeli government would be particularly well-advised to lay out its plans for the war in advance to its allies and explain what exactly is likely to cause significant civilian losses. It is much easier to explain in advance than in the middle of the war with gruesome pictures of dead civilians in the media.

Strangely, the Israeli coalition government is expected to survive everything since the only alternative is a return of Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister and no one in the government wants that.

It is important to emphasize that Israel is at war with Jihadist terrorism which aims to build up vast missile arsenals to eventually pose existential threats against the State of Israel and particularly against the city of Tel Aviv, Israel’s economic capital. Jihadist terrorism aims to destroy urban Israel with rockets and missiles which are progressively becoming more technologically advanced with Iranian assistance. The latest Iranian idea is to transfer drone technology to the Jihadist terrorist organizations to be used against Israel. This threat must be comprehensively dismantled before it gets worse.

Yet, the international community must understand that this war will cause many thousands of civilian casualties in both the Southern Military Theater and the Northern Military Theater. The war will be bloody and gruesome and it is important not to be under any illusions that the war somehow will be “surgical”. There is no way of carrying out “surgical strikes” against an enemy which hides among civilians.

Even so, this is a war fought against terrorism and totalitarianism for the lofty purpose of attaining peace in the Middle East.
