There is a strong case for the US Air Force participating on Israel’s side in the Northern War without putting a single boot on the ground. For Israel is the Northern War an existential matter as it is a war of no choice, it will indeed be fought as it is only a matter of when and if Israel loses then the Jewish state will cease to exist. There are also benefits to Israel from winning the war and establishing peace, including drawing new borders in the northern Levant, establishing a friendly indigenous Aramean Christian state as a successor state to Lebanon and incorporating Median Jewish (Alawite and Druze) regions by treaty and Syria annexing the rest of Lebanon as well as AANES becoming the new government in Damascus.
But what’s in it for the United States? The IDF has planned for the possibility that the Northern War may go on for as long as two years and it is a US interest to shorten the war as much as possible and ensure that the outcome is peace and that will only happen through military victory which the USAF can help ensure. It is an existential US national security interest to deter Iran from launching biological weapons terrorist attacks against the US homeland and threatening to participate in the Northern War will help defer the Northern War until the joint American-Israeli neutralization of the Iranian nuclear weapons program. Committing to participate in the Northern War will raise the US deterrence posture and will make the Iranians wary of attacking the American homeland. Of course this must be combined with continual subtle and calibrated strategic nuclear deterrence.
However, it must be understood that conquering Israel is not only theopolitically vital for the ruling mullahs in Tehran (this is a prerequisite for the reappearance of the Hidden Imam) but Israel is also a highly strategic staging point for invading North Africa and ”liberating” Mecca and Medina in anticipation of the Hidden Imam appearing in Mecca.
If Israel is destroyed then Iran will have a stranglehold on the world economy through its control of Gulf oil and the easiest way to prevent that is for the USAF to participate on Israel’s side in the Northern War. You may ask why Israel would fight the Northern War if there is a risk of Israel losing it? The answer is that what is being built up in Syria and Lebanon by the Iranian Axis increasingly poses an existential threat against Israel and so this threat must be completely removed. We are not talking about the first, second and third Northern Wars, but the First and Last Northern War that will establish lasting peace in Israel’s North and hence also regional stability while rolling back Iran’s sphere of influence.
