Ensuring the Survival of the AANES

The AANES (Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria) is a faithful American ally, quite unlike Turkey under Erdogan. It is a US national interest to strengthen the AANES and ensure its survival as a liberalizing bastion of women’s rights in the Middle East. However, the AANES is landlocked and none of its neighbors are allies of the AANES. There are no prospects for negotiations between the AANES and the Syrian regimes for autonomy for the Kurdish and Arab regions respectively of the AANES. These are pipedreams that will never come to fruition. The AANES has become part of the Middle Eastern political landscape and it is important to ensure that it will remain so as a model for Muslim countries of feminist liberalization and responsibly incremental democratization.

However, the future of AANES lies in taking over Syria generally. A joint IDF-SDF strategic operation to liberate Syria and Lebanon after Hezbollah unleashes its rocket/missile barrages against Israel following Israel’s anticipated destruction of the Iranian nuclear weapons program as expected in 2023 would be a geopolitical earthquake in the Middle East, yet would no doubt bring new stability to the northern Levant with new borders. Israel would establish an Aramean Christian state (Aram) and would annex Median Jewish (Alawite and Druze) regions. The remainder of Lebanon would be annexed by an AANES-led Syria. This would bring the AANES all the way to the Mediterranean Sea and would ensure the future of the AANES as transformed into the new feminist Syria.

The US should seriously consider arming the AANES with heavy weapons, particularly tanks and artillery. Arming the AANES will shorten Israel’s next war, something which the US considers to be an American interest. It is furthermore a US national interest that the AANES takes over Syria with IAF (Israeli Air Force) air support and removes the nefarious Assad regime. The United States should firmly stand with the feminist warriors of the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) and make sure that they have all the tools they need to liberate Syria.
