The last Ba’athist regime is run by members of the Alawite community in Syria, one of nine denominations of core Median Judaism. Yet, the Ba’athist regime despite being controlled by persons who are halakhically Jewish promote vile Anti-Semitism. Ba’athist Syria is allied with Khomeinist Iran, originally due to the strange misconception that Alawites ostensibly are Shiites – despite not practicing Islam.
The regime uses the Alawite community as a power base yet does not promote the interests of the Alawite people, on the contrary the regime acts like the Anti-Semites they are in trying to assimilate Alawites into Islam. Bashar al-Assad’s father Hafez al-Assad built mosques in Alawite villages and both father and son have a long record of outwardly pretending to be observant Muslims despite being secular.
It is unknown what the Khomeinist regime thinks about the fact that Alawites are Jewish as it has not made any statements on the matter. Indeed the close relationship between secular Ba’athist Syria and Islamist Khomeinist Iran was always a strange alliance and it is even more so after it was revealed in the past decade that Alawites are Jewish. What is clear however, is that Ali Khamenei and Ebrahim Raisi – both men are vile Anti-Semites – will not mourn the demise of the Alawite regime in Syria.
No one else will either. Russia is primarily concerned about maintaining its two military bases (one air force base and one naval base) in the Alawite region even after the Israeli annexation of the Alawite region after an Israeli war to root out Hezbollah and crush its patrons throughout the northern Levant. Russia is strengthening its relationship with the Israel-aligned AANES (Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria) which is eager to deepen its relationship with Russia and which will become the next government in Damascus after Israel liberates Syria and Lebanon from the totalitarian forces of Ba’athism and Khomeinism.
The US and the EU have sanctions in place against Ba’athist Syria and they are quite aware of the nefarious nature of the totalitarian Syrian regime which infamously on many occasions used chemical weapons against its own citizens. Certainly no Western government will mourn the demise of the totalitarian Ba’athist regime.
In fact no government in the world will mourn the turncoat Alawite regime that uses the Alawite community as a powerbase, yet acts completely contrary to the interests of the Alawite people.
