Qom Risks Annihilation

Khamenei plans to use chemical weapons against Israel in the massive rocket and missile war that Hezbollah will wage on Israel following Israel’s destruction of the Iranian nuclear weapons program in late 2022 or early 2023. Israel has no choice but to annihilate the clerical city of Qom in Iran as a matter of deterrence or there would no doubt be more and even more severe WMD attacks against Israel by Iran and affiliated Jihadist terrorist groups.

Israel certainly does not want to use nuclear weapons against Qom but it will have no choice if Iran uses chemical weapons against the city of Tel Aviv. A chemical attack by Hezbollah against Tel Aviv requires a nuclear attack against Qom. That’s the price tag attached. The Iranian regime has been warned that in the event such a tragic scenario would unfold they are entirely responsible for the consequences. This is exactly the type of scenario which requires Israel to maintain nuclear weapons.

While for the Israeli government it would surely not be an easy decision to annihilate Qom considering that the city has a population of 1,2 million inhabitants there is really no choice in the matter or else the next step would be for Iran to attack Israel with radiological weapons, it is really a choice between the survival of Tel Aviv or Qom, a bastion of Khomeinism and then it becomes an easy choice.

The Iranian regime would be particularly well-advised to refrain from using chemical weapons in the war with Israel in late 2022 or early 2023 or else the consequences for the city of Qom will be most tragic indeed. International diplomacy should be mobilized already now to convince Iran not to use chemical weapons against Israel as Jerusalem certainly harbors no ill will towards the people of Qom. Moscow and Beijing should use their influence over Tehran in the coming year to convince Ali Khamenei not to use chemical weapons against Israel. Yet, Israel has nuclear weapons for a reason and the first chemical attack against Tel Aviv would have to be responded to by a nuclear attack against Qom, that’s the name of the game. Iran is responsible for the consequences.
